JEWELLERY CARE

STERLING SILVER

  • Sterling Silver will naturally tarnish with exposure to air, environment, moisturisers, hairspray, soaps and perspirations. OBVIOUSLY these are all a fact of life so cleaning will keep them sparkly.

  • Wash your silver in warm water and mild detergent if tarnished, dry with non-abrasive cloth. Use an old toothbrush if it needs a real scrub.

  • Silver specialist cloths are IDEAL and are your best friend, it will bring your jewellery back to life on a daily basis- getting rid of all that grime. Simply just rub over you jewellery.

  • Silver that is regularly used typically needs less care, so keep wearing your M. regularly folks.

GOLD VERMEIL

  • Gold Vermeil, pronounced ‘Ver-may’ is a French term for Gold plated silver. Gold Vermeil is a more affordable choice to solid gold.

  • It is a layer of gold bonded to sterling silver so naturally it’ll wear but Vermeil is more durable than Gold Plate due to its thickness- treat it with care and it’ll last for years.

  • All my pieces are Gold Vermeil and plated to 3 microns (high)

  • Just like sterling silver it will naturally tarnish with exposure to perfumes, hairspray etc etc.

  • If it tarnishes just clean with warm soapy water and dry GENTLY with a hot soapy cloth. NEVER use soapy chemical cleaners.

Have no fear, all my pieces can be re-plated, polished and cleaned for a small price- just get in touch through email.

  • Store in an airtight ziplock bag or soft pouch- separate them if you can.

  • TOP TIP- don’t leave you jewellery on the side in the bathroom and put your jewellery on last when getting ready.
